My vote goes solidly to the Alfa 159. Any other suggestions? Please bring evidence.

Does the RS7 count?

The Jaguar XJ, I prefer the early versions:

I had an 84 Vanden Plas XJ6. I have to say, it aged quickly.

My 3 votes go to the Maserati Quatttroporte, first-gen Mercedes-Benz CLS, and the Tesla Model S.

Little known fact: The world's best looking sedan was made in 1936 in Indiana. It's the Cord 810.

Very good call. Every one of these I see stops me in my tracks.

Great call. Gorgeous cars, especially in profile.

Not better looking IMO. But it's quite futile to discuss personal tastes. To me, Audis designers are among the least imaginative.
They came up with Desu's and NinetyQs cars in the late 80's and have slowly evolved them to a point where I as a car guy have trouble telling different gens of one car or even different models apart from each other. "Is that a Q3 or a Q5?" And such.

I think the 156 is better looking than the 159.

I think the M6 Gran Coupe is the best of the German 4 door coupes. And no I am not defending the name, but it real life the sure are eye catching.

For the life of me I can't find a good pic of one of these. I'm sure they're out there, but all I get from searching is a load of 80s convertibles.
Gorgeous cars.

I do love me some Quattroporte.

That's a Rolls-Royce...

I tend to prefer my Bavarian 4-doors a little older, but I won't deny that the Gran Coupe is a good looking car.

Mk2 Jag.
Current models, then probably the XF.

Startpage.com (uses Google et.al., but does not record anything about you or save anything. And you can use proxy servers). I put in "1965 Lincoln Continental" and clicked images it brought up pages of them.

The current crop of Audis are probably the cleanest looking modern cars. Gorgeous machines.
The one that catches my eye most is the new RS6.

I absolutely love the 156. I suppose it helps that I have one :)
The estates are stunning too:
My eventual build for one of these will be a 3.0l V6 mounted longitudinally up front, with an Alfa transaxle and IRS in the rear. Go hunting E46 330is.
Either that or a Q4 AWD estate with a turbocharged or supercharged 2.0l T-Spark. Go hunting Subaru Imprezas in that instance.

I can't think of a definite answer, but I've always loved the Fisker Karma aesthetically (Joker smile aside). It does the GT-that-happens-to-have-4-doors thing better than just about anything.

I am inclined to agree with you as even I have trouble sometimes telling the difference between an A4 and an A6 in traffic. However, in my boring car corner of NJ any time I see an A7 it really stands out in the crowd.

You are well aware of my strange obsession with that vehicle. :)
![]() 08/12/2013 at 18:39 |

The obsession's utterly justified. It's a gorgeous car, with performance to back it up and all the space you could ever need.

From some angles, it looks pedestrian; from most other angles, it's downright mean. But from all angles, it's beautifully proportioned.
